THE CITY HALL OBSERVATORY OF PUERTO MONTT AND COWO CONVENED THE SECOND PUBLIC-PRIVATE TABLE ABOUT ENVIRONMENT.
This Monday, August 22 were convened different important people from Puerto Montt Commune, with the intention to look for solutions to environmental problems. This meeting was preceded by the Municipal Administrator Mr. Carlos Soto, who made a presentation about “the importance who have for city hall he fact of working together with the different organizations, due to these organizations works daily for the community and have much to contribute to the Municipal Administration”.

The City Hall Observatory is an institutional space that creates and consolidate permanent updated information, with the intention to strengthen the management of the communal authorities, so that making good use of this, these authorities shall contribute to the development of Puerto Montt. Its purpose is to monitoring the development of the commune according to 4 strategic axes identified on the government development plan 2010-2020:
Metropolitan Service Center.
The goal of the Public-Private Tables is to contribute to the participation of private actors (Entrepreneurs), governmental bodies, municipal and the civil society in the decision making related to the territorial themes in order to generate a model of Territorial Management inside the commune.
TOWARD SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS
COWO Puerto Montt and its team of professionals were supporting the establishment of the main key issues on every constituted working table. Among them the following problem were determined:
Associated with the abandonment of dogs.
Pollution centered to the household waste.
Loss of the wetlands.
Thus, under a project formulation methodology, the needs and problems, the necessary key resources and the compromise that each committee adopted have been established.
The work of COWO is simple: we participate in the processes in which the co-creation is a key to advancing efficiently towards solutions that impact the territory through by using collaboratives workspaces and encourage the entrepreneurship is a tool for concrete creation.
